Sleep mode - Computer does not got to sleep
The best the monitor will seem to do is to go into the "light" sleep mode (alternating green/amber power light). Any suggestions? Is there a registry setting that I can change perhaps? I've already messed with the power settings without any luck. Thanks, Jeff In somew computers I've seen the option for this is

My iMac was in sleep mode when the electricity failed so I decided to let it sleep instead of waking it and shutting it down. The UPS was still powering it when electricity was restored 90 minutes later. I don't know what the G4 iMac power consumption is in sleep mode. How long will this particular UPS provide

Monitor Sleep Mode
I just found the reason why sleep mode won’t work. It has to do with the TempRec folder wich will be automaticly placed in the recorded tv folder. I tried to change the the location in the registry but after restarting the “bad” service (ehrecvr) the TempRec folder is right where it was.

Sleep mode
When a microcontroller is put in sleep mode many registers and RAM are in an initialized state. In this condition the microcontroller can be affected by ESD, EMI which means the initialization can be corrupted -> there is a risk it does not wake up anymore. Of course there are watchdogs, but due to power

No network connection after hibernate/sleep mode
I cannot get rid of this 'standby' or 'sleep' mode. After about 20 to 30 mins my monitor falls into a 'sleep' state. The PC continues to work (the little green HD light blinks), and i have to move my mouse to get it out of sleep mode. This only seems to happen when leaving the PC on the desktop screen.

When the Media Centre is not in use, the off button (on the remote control or on the Media Centre unit) needs to be pressed which will put the unit into sleep mode. Is there any reason to suspect higher susceptibility to EMI/ESD corruption in sleep mode? I really suggest that you should concentrate on solving the EMC/ESD

Power Blackout when Media Center PC is in sleep mode
Can anyone offer any suggestions (short of explosives) as to how to remedy a "sleep" problem my computer is having. My Sony TV went into sleep mode and shut itself down while we were watching it. We don't have the original remote. The set is from about 1986, so it doesn't have a service mode switch. Any ideas for getting it out of sleep mode? Left it unplugged for 2 days, but it didn't reset. Could it be the power supply?

I also sleep the computer overnight, rather than switch it off. I use sleep as a means of cooling the system, since the ambient temperature here is around 30C. I do not believe Apple really spec their systems to run in the tropics. Plus the more they load on the graphics chips, the more often my fans run fast.
